The Tea Room is a small restaurant that exhibits art. My friend arranged for me to have the exhibit. Normally, I "don't do restaurants!", but the intimacy of this location beckoned. The show has six of my large, older Tool series, including my ten foot Pencil, (scroll below), and four of the recent Texture series . It really fills and enlivens the place, and I'm as happy with this installation as any gallery I've done.
The exhibit will be up through September.

Circus Gone Bad Series: Double Trouble
To my surprise and delight, I've been invited to give a second exhibition of 'Circus Gone Bad'.
Though I'm back working on my next 'serious' series of sculptures, I am still smiling and laughing from working with the circus. I trust that you will too!
I will also be showing some of my new work that I am very excited about.
Circus Gone Bad Series
This series began from a cardboard model that I was making for a ‘serious’ metal sculpture. Before I committed myself to the steel fabrication, I wanted to get an idea of what it would look like. So, I fabricated a basic model out of cardboard, hot glue and poster paints. After completing this stage, it reminded me of a Third World store sign or a cheap circus poster. I decided to ‘take the rest of the day off’ and explore my feelings.
After making and installing a neon element, I elaborated the painted details and placed a few of my daughter’s toy animals and doll heads inside the creation. To my surprise,
Circus Gone Bad was born.
Each one has its own meaning and hopefully poignant message.
